nearshoring CNC machining
Long sea-freight lead times, high minimum order quantities and slow engineering communication across time zones are pushing many European purchasing teams to move supply closer to home. Türkiye is part of a Customs Union with the EU, a few days by road from Central Europe, and has a deep machining base for heavy, large-diameter and heat-treated steel components. CNC-Turkey manages technical review, production at partner workshops, inspection and export documentation through one accountable team.

Türkiye is not the cheapest option for every part. For very high-volume, simple commodity parts, Asia may keep its price advantage. When total landed cost, lead time and supply risk are considered together, Türkiye is a strong alternative in these cases:
✓Low- and medium-volume parts with frequent revisions
✓Heavy, long or large-diameter steel parts: shafts, flanges, hydraulic rods
✓Parts that need several processes such as heat treatment, grinding or hard chrome
✓Buyers who need fast spare parts or want to reduce safety stock
The EU–Türkiye Customs Union and the A.TR certificate
Industrial goods in free circulation in Türkiye enter the EU without customs duty when they travel with an A.TR movement certificate, which we prepare with the export documents. The Customs Union is not a single market: an import declaration is still filed in the destination country and import VAT is due, which VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim. Specific trade-defence measures can apply to certain products, so we check the tariff code together with you at quotation stage. For shipments to the United Kingdom, the UK–Türkiye free trade agreement applies, and preferential tariffs depend on meeting its rules of origin.
Logistics and delivery options
Road freight to Europe usually takes 3–6 days. Full-truck or groupage shipments are available, and air freight is used for urgent samples and prototypes. EXW, FCA Istanbul and DAP are supported; the exact Incoterm is agreed at quotation stage. Heavy and long parts are corrosion-protected, secured and packed for transport.
How to transfer a part from your current supplier
To keep risk low, we recommend starting with one part or a small part family. You share the current drawing, existing quality reports and any known issues; material equivalents and the inspection plan are agreed. First articles are submitted for your approval with a measurement report, and series production starts after approval. Running in parallel with your current supplier during the transition keeps supply secure.
Manufacturing
What we coordinate for your drawing
•CNC turning, milling, 4/5-axis and multi-task machining
•Turning up to Ø700 mm and deep-hole drilling up to 4 m
•Coordination of heat treatment, grinding, hard chrome and surface finishing
•Inspection report, material certificate and export documents
Sourcing
Clear accountability, not a workshop search
—Days by road instead of weeks at sea, making urgent revisions and partial shipments easier
—Engineering questions answered in your working day
—Flexible low- and medium-volume production without high minimum order quantities
—Pre-shipment inspection is carried out by both CNC-Turkey and the producing workshop, and the results are compared
