Typical component types for large diameter CNC turning
Vertical CNC turning for large diameters is suitable for heavy flanges, rings, discs and large rotational housings. These parts can be workholded more stably on a vertical lathe than on a horizontal lathe.

Workholding and machining challenges for large components
For large and heavy parts, workholding, vibration control and cooling strategy directly affect machining quality and tolerance. For this reason, geometry, centre of gravity, material and critical surfaces of large-diameter parts are reviewed in detail at the quotation stage.
Achievable tolerance in large-diameter turning depends on diameter, length, material (cast / forged), heat-treatment condition and inspection method. Critical dimensions are evaluated during quotation.

Can material certificates be supplied?
EN 10204 3.1 material certificates can be supplied when requested and agreed during quotation. Source, form, dimensions and purchase conditions affect availability.
What if CMM inspection or a detailed dimensional report is required?
Dimensional inspection uses suitable conventional measuring equipment. Where CMM inspection, detailed dimensional reports or third-party verification are required, these services can be coordinated through a qualified measurement network.
