custom CNC fixture manufacturing
A good fixture does more than hold a part: it locates from controlled datums, preserves tool access, applies clamping force without unwanted distortion and repeats the reference from cycle to cycle. CNC-Turkey coordinates CNC manufacture, agreed assembly, inspection records and export delivery for fixtures and tooling with a defined technical file. Design engineering, hydraulic or pneumatic circuits and on-site commissioning are confirmed separately for each project.
What fixture and tooling components can we manufacture?
The manufacturing scope extends from milled fixture bodies and base plates to turned collets, mandrels and locating elements. Quotation follows the material, tolerances, surfaces, heat treatment and assembly relationships defined in the approved drawing or 3D model.
✓Fixture bodies, base and pallet plates, nests and stops
✓Soft jaws, custom clamps, collets and expanding mandrels
✓Locating pins, bushings, pads, keys and replaceable wear elements
✓Machined bodies and components for inspection fixtures and gauges
Location and clamping are not the same function
Under a 3-2-1 datum strategy, locating elements constrain the workpiece in a controlled way while clamps seat it against those references. Unnecessary over-constraint, trapped chips or force applied to a thin wall can create dimensional error and unreliable repeatability. The datum scheme, cutting-force direction, tool and probe access, and chip/coolant evacuation therefore need to be reviewed together.
Inputs required before design support can be scoped
A finished-part model alone may not be enough for a safe, verifiable fixture design. We also need the blank and pre/post-operation geometry, machining sequence, machine-table and zero-point interface, tool paths, target cycle and loading method. If design support is requested, the deliverable CAD/drawings, approval responsibility, trial parts and acceptance test are defined as a separate work package in the quotation.
Hydraulic, pneumatic or vacuum fixtures
These projects are not treated as a standard scope by default. Pressure and circuit diagrams, specified valve/cylinder/coupling brands, safety interlocks, hoses and rotary unions, machine interface, leak and function tests, and responsibility for on-site commissioning must be agreed in writing. CNC-Turkey commits to manufacturing or assembly only after the technical file and responsibility boundaries are confirmed.
Materials, wear and replaceable details
Engineering steel, tool steel or suitable aluminium may be reviewed for the body or plate, with hardenable steels for locating and contact elements. Selection is not made by material name alone: stiffness, total mass, impact, wear, corrosion, repairability and cycle count are considered together. Making frequently worn pins, bushings and pads replaceable can simplify maintenance; final material and hardness follow the approved specification.
Inspection and delivery acceptance
There is no responsible universal 'fixture accuracy' figure. The target must be derived from an error budget covering part tolerance, machine accuracy, workholding repeat, locating elements, inspection method and process variation. When agreed at quotation, fixture datums, pin/hole positions, table interface, contact surfaces and assembly function can be reported; detailed or external CMM inspection is coordinated separately. Machine trials and on-site commissioning are excluded unless explicitly stated in the order scope.

Real workholding and tooling manufacturing images
The images explain CAD/CAM preparation, contact surfaces and machine interfaces reviewed for workholding and tooling projects. Every new project is verified from its own technical file.
Can you design a fixture from only the workpiece CAD file?
Workpiece CAD is a starting point but is often insufficient. Blank condition, operation sequence, machine/table interface, tool access, clamping method, cycle, quantity and acceptance test are required. Design-support deliverables and approval responsibility are scoped separately before quotation.
Which fixture and tooling types can you quote?
To approved drawings we can review machining-fixture bodies and plates, soft jaws, collets, mandrels, locating pins/bushings, stops and inspection-tooling components. Welded structures, assembly, measurement or commissioning are confirmed as separate scope where requested.
Can you supply hydraulic or pneumatic fixtures?
They can be reviewed project by project, but no firm scope is offered until circuit, pressure, bought-out components, safety, testing and commissioning responsibilities are defined. Machined bodies/components only, or an agreed assembly scope, can be quoted separately.
Is fixture repeatability guaranteed?
It is not guaranteed from a generic catalogue figure. Repeatability depends on machine, workpiece, datum layout, clamping force, wear, measurement system and process variation. A numerical target can be verified only when its acceptance method is defined in the drawing or test plan before order.
What files and information are needed for quotation?
Send PDF and STEP/STP for the workpiece and fixture where available, plus revision, blank condition, pre/post-operation geometry, machine model and table interface, tool access, clamping type, quantity/annual cycles, material, critical datums/tolerances, bought-out-component list, acceptance test and destination country.
