How to reduce unit cost in series production

The most important factors affecting unit cost when transitioning to series production are:

• ✓Quantity increase: fixed setup cost spread over more parts — direct per-unit reduction
• ✓Review unnecessary tolerances: loosen tight tolerances on non-functional surfaces to ISO 2768-m
• ✓Material optimisation: avoid unnecessarily high-alloy or exotic materials
• ✓Series approval: after prototype approval, request a renewed quotation and revised price for series

Serial CNC production from Turkey — what to expect

Turkey offers competitive unit cost at series volumes, the EU Customs Union advantage and short transit time to Europe by road freight. For medium-series orders (50–500 pieces), production time is typically 4–8 weeks, with 10–15 days added for sea freight to Europe.

In long-term supply relationships, revision management is critical. With every revision change, it is recommended to update the drawing, material and inspection requirements and confirm with the supplier.
