How complexity is evaluated

Inaccessible surfaces, workholding orientations, second-operation needs, relationships between surfaces and inspection requirements are part of the technical review.

Requests requiring 5-axis machining

Projects requiring 5-axis machining are evaluated after the appropriate production route and machine selection have been confirmed from the drawing.

Advantages of multi-task machining

Multi-task turning and milling machining allows both turning and milling operations to be completed in the same setup. This eliminates multiple-workholding errors and improves positional tolerances between surfaces. For complex-geometry parts it reduces total production time and the number of setups.

However, multi-task machining is not suitable for every part. Simple rotational components can be produced more economically on a standard CNC lathe. The appropriate route is determined from the drawing review.

Part characteristics suited to multi-axis machining

The following characteristics indicate that a part may benefit from multi-axis or multi-task machining:

  • Complex components requiring both turning and milling operations
  • Long or thin-section parts difficult to hold consistently across multiple setups
  • Components requiring precise positioning between surfaces (axial holes, slot-bore relationships)
  • Parts with angled features requiring C, Y or B-axis capability

Can material certificates be supplied?

EN 10204 3.1 material certificates can be supplied when requested and agreed during quotation. Source, form, dimensions and purchase conditions affect availability.

What if CMM inspection or a detailed dimensional report is required?

Dimensional inspection uses suitable conventional measuring equipment. Where CMM inspection, detailed dimensional reports or third-party verification are required, these services can be coordinated through a qualified measurement network.

How quickly will I get a first response?
