Extrusion die and tooling manufacturing

Send your drawing for a new die project, replacement insert or revised tooling component. CNC-Turkey coordinates machining to approved geometry, complementary processes and shipment under the agreed manufacturing plan. Your quotation identifies each component, drawing revision and delivery acceptance criteria.

What is an extrusion die, and what can you source?

An extrusion die gives material passing through it a continuous cross-sectional profile. Alongside the die itself, support, locating and replaceable wear components contribute to the tooling assembly. We can review the following component families for quotation against approved drawings:

  • Die bodies, profile plates and replaceable inserts
  • Mandrels, cores and mandrel holders
  • Backer plates, support rings and spacer rings
  • Drawing-specific holders, adapters and spare tooling parts

Aluminium and plastic extrusion: define the right scope

A hot aluminium extrusion die and a plastic profile die are different tools. Process material, temperature, pressure, flow channels and finished-product requirements differ. Identify the process in your enquiry so we can assess the manufacturing route from the tooling drawing and individual components.

  • Manufacture to an approved die design and development of a die for a new profile are separate scopes.
  • Where flow analysis, wire/sinker EDM, specialist polishing or line trials are needed, the method, responsible party and deliverables are agreed separately in the quotation.

Plan machining, heat treatment and final dimensions together

A useful quotation goes beyond steel grade and outside diameter. It also defines operation sequence, hardness, finishing allowance and when critical surfaces will be inspected. Hot-work tool steel selection depends on temperature, loading and wear conditions; one grade is not suitable for every tooling component.

  • Material standard, supply condition and requested certificate
  • Post-heat-treatment hardness, nitriding specification where needed and finishing allowance
  • Datum surfaces, concentricity, flatness, profile and surface roughness

An RFQ checklist for a faster, comparable quotation

A photograph helps start the conversation; revision-controlled technical data is needed to confirm a manufacturing price. Tell us whether you need a single component, a spare set or repeat orders. The following information clarifies processing and delivery scope:

  • PDF drawing + STEP/STP model; part number, revision and quantity
  • Product cross-section, processed alloy/polymer and process type
  • Tool envelope, mounting layout, mating components and critical tolerances
  • Material/hardness, finishing, measurement report, trial and acceptance responsibility
  • Required delivery date, destination and protective packaging requirements

FAQ

Questions international buyers ask

Can I get a quote with only a profile drawing?

It can start the technical review. A firm manufacturing quotation needs tooling geometry, interfaces, material, tolerances and acceptance criteria. If no die design exists, design support, approval and trials are scoped separately from manufacture.

Can you manufacture just one tooling part or spare insert?

Yes, individual parts and spare sets can be reviewed for technical feasibility. Share mating dimensions, drawing revision and assembly clearances. A worn sample is not copied directly without approving the intended original dimensions.

Are heat treatment and nitriding included?

Not automatically: requested processes, hardness, surface requirements and inspection documents are itemized in the quotation. Suitable treatments can be coordinated within the manufacturing plan. The stage for final dimensional acceptance is agreed at the outset.

Does die inspection replace a press or line trial?

No. Dimensional inspection verifies drawing conformity; the extruded profile's dimensions, surface and process performance are evaluated separately on the relevant line. Trial location, sample approval, correction cycle and responsibilities are agreed in writing before order.

What documents and lead time can you offer?

Lead time is quoted from geometry, steel availability, quantity, treatments and inspection scope. State material certificate, hardness record and dimensional-report needs in your enquiry. Required CMM inspection can be coordinated externally; packaging and delivery terms are defined in the quotation.
