Case-Hardened Pins and Zinc-Plated Flanges for Australian Mining Equipment

For mining machinery in Australia, we made case-hardened, ground pins and zinc-plated flanges. The customer has placed repeat orders.

One accountable teamCNC Turkey manages international sales, engineering communication, production planning, quality documentation and export operations. Our manufacturing network in Türkiye combines specialised processes; CNC Turkey is responsible for quotation, quality and delivery.

Australia project example

This project called for a hard surface over a tough core. Hardness falls towards the core, which helps the part withstand impact. Customer name, part details, dimensions and commercial details are withheld for confidentiality.

Why case hardening?

Pins in mining machinery face both wear and impact. With a case-hardening steel, the surface becomes hard while the core stays softer and tougher. The pins were turned and drilled first, then case-hardened and ground to final size.

Documentation

Part-level documents were prepared with the shipment. They are customer-specific and are not published here.

  • ✓EN 10204 3.1 material certificates
  • ✓Quality control reports for each part
  • ✓Heat treatment reports
  • ✓ISPM-15 heat treatment record for the wooden crates

Zinc-plated flanges

The flanges were zinc-plated after machining. Because coating thickness can affect dimensions, fitted surfaces and threads are discussed separately at quotation.

Packing and wooden crates

On an overseas route to Australia, surface protection matters. The crates were made of ISPM-15 heat-treated wood. Parts were wrapped in VCI anti-corrosion paper, packed into crates, and each crate was labelled. Customer details on the crate label in the photo have been hidden.
